So here we are...

My first entry for this blog. I need an outlet so here we go.

I am a mom...should still be an incubator. Our baby boy, Brendan, was born 11 weeks early (at 29 weeks exactly) on
June 9, 2008. He should still be in my belly kicking me and keeping us guessing on whether or not he is a he or a she. I became a mom earlier then I was supposed to and since then have been on the roller coaster ride known as life in the NICU. We are on day 49 of this journy and it isn't getting any easier. I figure better to write here then to keep it all inside of me. Our boy is doing well considering how early he was born. he has some breathing issues, weight issues and a problem maintaining his own temperature. But they aren't "major" issues and should all even out around what was my due date, August 23rd. So here I am a mom to a beautiful baby boy and honestly loving life as a mom. Everyone keeps telling my husband and I that if we can survive this NICU journey we can survive anything. The thing is this has brought us even closer together. I didn't think it was possible. I wasn't sure what kind of parents we would be but let me tell you we are good and dedicated parents.

At any rate this is our journey through the NICU and beyond..
